There are some amazing pictures of the race on the North Bay Camera Club's website (northbaycameraclub.com). Thanks to the people who gave up their time to get some shots of us mud splattered and grimacing in pain (or maybe even smiling). Tom

There are images from the race available on the North Bay Camera Club site - some on the home page and some on the events page. More images later.
If you want an image they are free, all we ask is you make a charitable donation in the name of North Bay Camera Club at https://www.canadahelps.org/DonationDetails.aspx?cookieCheck=true

Absolutely a fan-tic-tastic event! Dank U to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors and Mattawa locals for hosting the toughest mountain bike race in Ontario. I had my doubts about this claim, but the sand and most importantly the swamp confirmed the statement. A quick call out to (I think) Mike at checkpoint one for “quickly” replacing a Bowden cable for me……I owe you one!!! See you next year………Dusty.

Organizer's Note...As per usual, Mechanic services at checkpoint 1 are provided by Christian from North Riders. He's always a life saver!

Just a quick thankyou again to the great organization from the race directors and the courtesy and patience of the volunteers waiting for an 'old guy' to finish the 110km ! Many thanks also to the guys on the ATV's who stopped and adjusted my brakes in the last 10k enabling me to ride unstead of walk. This race is indeed the hidden gem of MTB racing in Ontario!

Hi Joe

Thanks for your question. The course is not all that technical, just more of a "wear you down and wear you out" kind of ride. You will experience mud to loose sand, bed-rock/Canadian Shield to loose shale, as well as many hard packed areas. As for specific tire recommendations, I would typically suggest riders use a fairly fast tread design, however it is VERY dependent on weather leading up to the race. On very dry years, there is are some extensive sandy sections. On very wet years, mud can be a real issue. So far this year it WAS very dry, and now has been raining hard for the last week! :)

So, I don't have a specific tire recommendation, and I've never ridden with your tires so I can't give much help there.

Hope to see you on race day.

Hi I am from Whistler BC and will be in North Bay and would like to do this race. I am curious about what tires I should run. I ride out here on Hutchison Python 2.0. Our trails as you probably know are quite technical. What tires do you recommend for this course.

Cheers,
Joe Maika
