Comments from the 2009 Race

Here is a link to a great synopsis of the event from the 110 km course winner.

Just a quick thank you again to the great organization from the race directors and the courtesy and patience of the volunteers waiting for an ‘old guy’ to finish the 110km ! Many thanks also to the guys on the ATV’s who stopped and adjusted my brakes in the last 10k enabling me to ride instead of walk. This race is indeed the hidden gem of MTB racing in Ontario!  – Don from Toronto

Had a awesome time yesterday. Not sure yesterday if I would do it again next year but after a night of rest lets go again. See you in 2010… thanks for the excellent experience in true Mountain bike riding….Mike from Grimsby, ON

I would also like to thank you for a wonderful event and a fun weekend. The race course was truly challenging, the volunteers amazing and the potatoe salad at dinner a real treat. I will also see you all next year, thank you to all the sponsors.  Erik from Lively ON

We finished in 9hr 40, including roughly 8 1/2 hours rolling time. I plan to be there next year. It is an experience that I had no desire to repeat until about a month after I finished. Now, I’m keen again. It’s funny how periods of duress seem more appealing sometime afterwards.

This the second consecutive year that I have participated and finished this amazing wilderness race. Its a great setting and trail system. I am certainly glad that Nick and guys have added the 30Km race. Just because its a shorter distance doesnt mean its any less challenging so make sure you train as its not an easy Saturday bike ride! But one thing …it is a rewarding feeling to finish the toughest mountain bike race in Ontario…I got the t-shirt to prove it!
